Dream, Believe, Achieve

Good life is something what depends only on you. Nobody can create your future as you do. Even if everything seems to going wrong and being hopeless you can change it! As a confirmation of these words we want to bring a life story of the most influential woman in the world!!

We think everyone knows this name: Oprah Winfrey, best known for her talk -shows, for a time the world’s only black billionaire and as mentioned before the most influential woman in the world. But how she has reached it? Her family situation certainly didn’t help here. She was born to a teenage single mother in the rural town of Kosciusko. Why Oprah? Her first name supposed to be Orpah from the Bible but it was misspelled in the birth certificate. At age of nine she was sexually abused by a number of men. Few years later when she was 14 she was pregnant but her son died in infancy. Oprah’s mother decided that she will live only with her father in Nashville. Thanks to his strictness she won an oratory contest. Winning it helped her to gain a scholarship to Tennessee State University. Even from young age she loved talking and be surrounded by people. While working in local media, she was the youngest and the first black female news anchor as well first Afro-American in the Vogue magazine.

Thanks to the fact that we are living in Chicago which gave us a great opportunity to see her in the live program “Ophra’s LifeClass”. (we couldn’t bring camera with us so the quality of photos unfortunately is not the best)

From her first job at a local grocery store she became billionaire. Known as the ”Queen of talk”, founder of schools in South Africa, a donator to victims of poverty and disease. Also an owner of most luxurious properties in New Jersey, Florida, Hawaii, California…

We’ve chosen to our mind her interesting quotes to remember…

“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.”

“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”

What do you think about Oprah and her life? Do you have any comments which you want to share?
